THE BUCCS DEFEAT SIDNEY AND SPRINGFIELD

SIDNEY – Covington traveled to Sidney to face the Yellow Jackets along with Springfield on Monday night and the Buccs came away victorious in both duals, defeating Springfield, 56-21, and defeating Sidney, 64-18. 

Going 2-0 for the Buccs were Brody Taylor (106 lbs, pin), Eddie Deaton (113, pin), Henry Skaggs (120, 2 pins), Isaiah Mumford (132, 2 pins), Liam Geeding (144, pin), Caleb Ryman (150, pin), Jack Blumenstock (157), Aveyen Meek (165, 2 pins), Mason Epperson (190, pin) and Trenton Havenar (215, 2 pins). Kaden Thompson (175) finished 1-1. 

In extra matches, Landon Beeman (165, 2 pins) finished 2-0, while Gibson Leach (165, pin) and Lucas Lester (175, pin) went 1-0. 

In Jr. High action, the Buccs won every contested match versus Springfield, and won six of eleven bouts against Sidney.

Going 2-0 for the Buccs were Mason Ouellette (86), Blake Lucas (104), Wyatt Kerber (116, pin), Gavin Brown (128, 2 pins), Weston Roth (134, pin) and Grayson Feight (142, 2 pins), while Alex Salinas (110), Briggs Lucas (116), Ian Marion (122, pin), Chloe Aselage (128, pin) and Cooper Turner (142, pin) finished 1-1 on the day.

Covington high school and jr. high travels to the Lehman Invitational on Friday, Feb. 7.
