The 1996-97 Buccaneers recorded an overall record of 58-41 for a winning percentage of 59%. The Buccs were 16-8 in dual meets and 42-33 in tournaments.

Noah Turner became the 18th Buccaneer to qualify for the state meet as he earned a birth t state in the 152 pound weight class. Turner had a stellar season where he also won a Sectional Championship.

Tuner was a part of a solid senior class consisting of himself and Travis Bubeck, Chuck Gibson, and Brad Barbee – four wrestlers who provided great leadership for the program due to their hard work and determination.

The Buccaneers finished runner-up in the CCC, runner-up at the Northeastern Invitational and finished 6th out of 18 teams in the Sectional Tournament.


Noah Turner was the 18th Covington wrestler in school history to qualify for the state wrestling meet.
