The Covington Buccaneers continue to overcome early season adversity from injuries and illness and Saturday was no different as the Buccs put together a strong showing in finishing fourth at the Versailles Invitational.

Covington defeated Kenton Ridge, 61-18, Milton-Union, 42-21, and Arcanum, 72-12, but dropped duals to Versailles, 51-27, and Brookville, 40-38.

Going undefeated through all of the duals were Carson Taylor (106 lbs., 6-0, 2 pins), Michael Hagan (113, 5-0, 1 pin), Jericho Quinter (120, 6-0, 4 pins) and Chase Vanderhorst (132, 6-0, 4 pins). Finishing 4-1 were Connor Sindelir (157, 4 pins) and Scott Blumenstock (285). Hayden Barker (215, 1 pin) went 4-2, while Caleb Miller (150, 1 pin) went 3-2.

Unable to compete in all the duals, but finishing without a loss were Jensen Wagoner (190, 4-0, 1 pin), Izaiah Sherman (175, 3-0, 1 pin) and Brian Morrison (126, 2-0).
