
BUCCS FINISHED FIFTH AT VERSAILLES
Covington competed in the Versailles Duals tournament on Saturday, finishing with a 4-2 overall record to place 5th out of 12 teams. The Buccs defeated St. Marys, 42-35, before dropping a 42-35 dual to Brookville. The Buccs then defeated Tipp City, 46-35, before falling to Versailles, 65-13. Covington then defeated Ben Logan, 36-27, and defeated Versailles B team, 34-25, to conclude the tournament.
Brody Taylor (106), Henry Skaggs (126) and Caleb Ryman (157) all went undefeated on the day. Taylor went 4- 0 with 1 pin, Skaggs finished with a 6-0 with 3 pins, while Ryman went 6-0 with 5 pins to lead the Buccs. Eddie Deaton (120) and Trenton Havenar (215) both finished with 4-2 records.
Diego Lopez (165) earned a 3-2 record with 1 pin, while Weston Roth went 3-3 with 2 pins on the day. Also winning matches for Covington were Ava Ostrov (120), Jonny Miller (132, 1 pin), Tyler Palsgrove (150, 1 pin), Cutler Robbins (157), Landon Beeman (175, 1 pin) and A.J. Reyes (215, 2 pins).
Covington competes next at the Greater Miami Valley Wrestling Association (GMVWA) Holiday tournament on December 29 and 30.
Sidney Jr. High Invitational / Graham Best of Midwest Invitational

Covington’s Jr. High wrestling team split up and competed at two different tournaments on Saturday.
Five wrestlers competed at Sidney, with all earning victories for the Buccs. Carter McQuinn (104 lbs.) led the team with a 3rd place finish with a 4-1 record with 3 pins. Corbin Robinson (205, 3 pins) and Bently Sowers (160) placed 4th, while Gage Abke (110) and Ian Marion (142, 1 pin) placed 5th.
Three wrestlers competed at the Best of Midwest Invitational at Graham – one of the toughest Jr. High tournaments in the state, and each came away with victories. Dalton Brown (116) and Brady Feight (128) each earned 2 pins, while Blake Lucas (128) also won for the Buccs.
