
MECHANICSBURG – Covington finished in 5th place out of 18 teams at the Mechanicsburg Heart of Ohio tournament, despite being down a few wrestlers at the event. Defending state champion Parkersburg South, West Virginia, won the tournament. In all, the Buccs put five wrestlers on the podium with top-6 finishes.
Caleb Ryman (157) and Trenton Havenar (215) were tournament champions, each scoring the maximum possible team points at the event by pinning all 5 of their opponents. Ryman pinned Parkersburg South’s Zane Reeder in the finals, while Havenar pinned Caledonia River Valley’s Wuan`ye Dickerson in the championship bout.
Jonny Miller (144) finished as tournament runner-up with a 4-1 record with 4 pins, before falling to Parkersburg South’s Jansen Dearth in the finals. Henry Skaggs (132) finished in 3rd place with a 4-1 record with 3 pins and 1 technical fall victory, while Weston Roth (138) took 4th place with a 3-2 record with 2 pins, and Gibson Leach (175) took 6th place with 2 pins.
Also winning matches for the Buccs were Eddy Deaton (126), Christian Clark (132, 1 pin), Wyatt Kerber (132, 1 pin), Grayson Feight (144, 1 pin), Caiden Walters (144), Liam Geeding (150, 2 pins), Diego Lopez (165, 1 pin), and AJ Reyes (190, 1 pin).
In separate extras brackets, at 150 lbs., Cooper Turner placed 1st with 3 wins, while Tyler Palsgrove placed 5th with a pin. at 165 lbs., Day’Lynn Garrett placed 1st with 2 pins, while Colton Townsend placed 2nd with 1 pin.
The Buccs compete next at the Coldwater Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 13.
Milton-Union Jr. High Bulldog Invitational

Covington’s Jr. High wrestling team placed 9th out of 18 teams at the Milton-Union Bulldog Invitational with three individual top-3 place-winners.
Brady Feight (122 lbs.) finished as tournament runner-up after advancing to the finals with three consecutive pins. Mason Ouellette (98) also earned 3 pins, finishing in 3rd place after a semi-final loss. Blake Lucas (128) finished in 3rd place with four victories after dropping a narrow 1-point decision in the semifinals.

Covington WOWL Youth Wrestling Meet at Stebbins

Covington travelled to Stebbins for a Western Ohio Wrestling League (WOWL) meet on Sunday. The event included Anna, DC Warriors, Dixie, Oakwood, Piqua, Stebbins, Tecumseh and Tipp City.
Taking first place for the Buccs were Everett McCord and Brycen Cline.
Finishing second were Braden Winston, Ethan Owens, Kyndrick Campbell, Brayden Barnett, Carter Roth, JT Schneider, Braxton Sowers, Christian Lemp, Cole Reynolds, Connor Clark, Olivia Brown and Grayson Sowers.
Taking third place at the event were Holden Miller, Lyam Davis, Jason Richmond, Issac Godsey, Becket Garber, Emmitt Everett, Emmett Clark, Caroline Koogler and Rowan Brant, while Archer Landis finished in fourth place.
Each of the kids gained valuable experience and represented Covington well. The Buccs compete in our home meet on Sunday, Dec. 7.
