2019-20: BUCCS SWEEP ‘DOGS AND CAVS

Dylan Staudt and the Buccs had a solid showing in duals against Milton-Union and Coldwater.

Covington’s High School and Jr. High wrestling teams both faced Coldwater and Milton-Union on Thursday night and both came away with two victories. Covington HS improved their overall dual meet record to 17-3 with a 61-18 victory over Coldwater and a 68-9 victory over Milton-Union, while Covington JH improved their dual meet record to 5-1 with a 46-12 win over Coldwater and a 54-12 win over Milton-Union.

Going 2-0 for the high school were Dalton Bishop (106 lbs), Cael Vanderhorst (126, 2 pins), Kellan Anderson (132, pin), Austin Flick (145, 2 pins), Jensen Wagoner (160, 2 pins), Trentin Alexander (170, pin), Duncan Cooper (182, 2 pins), Jesse Fisher (195, 2 pins) and Dylan Staudt (220, pin).

Brian Morrison (113, pin), Banks Koffer (120, pin), Connor Sindelir (138, pin), Deacon Shields (152, pin) and Scott Blumenstock (285, pin) each went 1-1 on the night. Bryce Smith (160) won in JV action for the Buccs.

Going 2-0 for the Jr. High were Michael Hagan (98, pin), Kaden Thompson (104), Jericho Quinter (110, pin), Chase Vanderhorst (116, 2 pins), A.J. Garman (128), Izaiah Sherman (150, 2 pins) and Ashtin Gardner (172).

Kacyn Hall (86), Carson Taylor (92, pin), Aveyen Meek (122) and Garrett Hobbs (160, pin) each went 1-1.

Both Covington teams host Eaton next Wednesday, February 5.

Kellan Anderson picked up a couple of wins against Coldwater and Milton-Union.
