2020-21: BUCCS SHUT OUT DAYTON CHRISTIAN

David Robinson sures back points in a victory over Dayton Christian.

Covington hosted Dayton Christian Friday night and put in a strong performance with a 76-0 victory over the Warriors to improve their dual meet record to 7-0. Connor Sindelir (152) started things off for the Buccs with a 10-0 major decision over Austin Sellers, followed by a Caleb Miller (160) pin over Nate Petroni. Trentin Alexander (170) then pinned Luke Alexander in an exciting match, followed by Trey Kiser (182) pinning Marrick May.

Jensen Wagoner (195) then picked up a pin over Preston Seller in a back-and-forth match, before Duncan Cooper (220) picked up a forfeit. Ricky Stephan (285) then pinned McKinley Metcalf, followed by Carson Taylor’s (106) pin over Copper Bush.

Michael Hagan (113) picked up another pin for the Buccs over Tristan Hill, while Jericho Quinter (120) earned a forfeit. After a double forfeit at 126 lbs., Kellan Anderson (132) pinned Jayden Litteral, and Cael Vanderhorst (138) pinned Wesley Taylor. David Robinson (145) then concluded the dual with a pin over Isaac Garman. Luke Brown (145) also wrestled well for the Buccs in JV action.

The day before, Jackson Shiverdecker (132, 2 pins), Trey Kiser (170, pin) and Hayden Barker (220, 3 pins) all wrestled well at the Vandalia-Butler JV pools.
